Inspired by the rainbow as a symbol of diversity, inclusion, and hope, Together We Stand I celebrates the strength that emerges when individuals come together as a community. Though simple in appearance, the painting reflects the precision, strategy, and physical control required to execute Fraser’s signature Brush Stroke Technique.

Each mark is created through a single press, requiring careful placement and pressure with little room for correction. The repeating forms stand as metaphors for humanity itself, distinct yet connected, representing people from all backgrounds united through a shared experience.

The work also functions as a subtle self portrait of Fraser’s artistic practice. The Brush Stroke Technique demands endurance, control, and a sustained state of arousal, transforming the artist’s body into both tool and subject. While vibrant and celebratory in appearance, the painting required physical sacrifice, embodying Fraser’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance and contemporary art.
