Point Work ll (2022)

Sale price$2,400.00

Part of Brent Ray Fraser’s ongoing Self Portrait Study Series, Point Work II was inspired by the pioneering pointillist works of French Post-Impressionist master Georges Seurat.

Drawing from Seurat’s revolutionary approach to optical color mixing, Fraser constructed this self portrait through the careful accumulation of thousands of individual marks. Rather than using a traditional brush, each point was created through his signature Brush Stroke Technique, transforming a historic painting method into a contemporary act of embodied mark making.

Saturated violets, blues, reds, and whites interact across the canvas, allowing the image to emerge through optical blending and visual rhythm. The work reflects Fraser’s ongoing fascination with the relationship between the body, perception, and the evolution of mark making itself.

Point Work II was featured in NUDUS ERECTUS, Fraser’s first solo New York exhibition presented at SoHo Project Space in Manhattan and hosted by renowned collector Charles W. Leslie.
