Atlas Within: Self Portrait Study l (2026)
Created entirely through Brent Ray Fraser’s signature Brush Stroke Technique, Atlas Within I is a commanding self-portrait that explores the relationship between physical presence, identity, and artistic process. Layers of vibrant cyan, crimson, and deep ultramarine transform the figure into a symbolic monument suspended between strength and vulnerability.
Executed through Fraser’s distinctive body painting methodology and incorporating his infamous genital imprint techniques, the work serves as both portrait and performance artifact. Every mark originates directly from the artist’s physical engagement with the surface, collapsing the distance between creator, subject, and medium.
Part of Fraser’s ongoing exploration of Art Sexualism, Atlas Within I reflects the body not simply as a subject to be depicted, but as an active instrument of creation. The result is a deeply personal work that merges self-representation, endurance, and gestural abstraction into a singular visual statement.
